Colors of Happy

by

Mx. Jupiter

Entry 1:

Color me pretty
Never let me die
Growing wings and
Learning how to fly
“The world was black and white until they came along,” the grandmother said, rocking herself back and forth on her rocking chair, staring intently out onto the tops of the bright green trees standing against dark blue sky. The purple thunderheads were moving west against the horizon as the Sun’s yellow light broke through them, drenching the land in its warmth.
Her grandchildren looked up at her, not understanding a world without color or how four simple people could bring all of the color and light to all of the darkest corners of the world.
      “Even the Sun?” asked Blaine.
“Yes. Even the sun,” laughed the grandmother. “All of the world was cold and dark
until they brought us warmth and colors. No one knows exactly where they came from.
Most people think they were ordinary people like you ‘n me.  I guess it just goes to show
ya how much potential is in people,  seemin’ly ordinary human bein’s. Maybe they came
like the rest of us, pulled into this world full of innocence and potential, or maybe they
were weaved from the wind and the light from the sun. Their names were Amil, Claramond,
Misham, and Rowan.”
She knew she was different. She felt it within her, a stirring of energy and brilliance inside of her bones and every fiber of her being. She felt it in the core of her heart. She knew there was more to the world than what anyone could imagine.

“Amil!” her mother called up the stairs. “Hurry up. You don’t want to be late for your first day of school.”

She looked at herself in the mirror, her black hair pulled up in a ponytail. The various shades of gray that made her blending into the rest of her surroundings. If she squinted, she could scarcely tell that she was there, but she felt her heart beating in her chest, and that was good enough for her. She traced the outline of her face in the mirror with her small, delicate fingers, smiling gently as she did so.

“Coming mommy,” she said as she grabbed her lunch box and raced down the stairs.

Fear

by

Taylor

Life is fear
Everything we hear
Can lead to losing a shear of hope
Life is like a slope
Life is short
And emotions are hard to sort
Its hard to be a good sport

When time is running short.

A Fate to Keep

by
Meghan

You are mine
I am yours
With each other
We’ll cross shores

I’ll go anywhere with you
If you'd go anywhere with me
And if we’d stick together
We can cross the sea

Pink and blue
Boy and girl
A fate we’d meet

And a fate we’d keep

Fate

by
Taylor

Sleeping in bed
Can make you feel dead
As you wake
Everything is at stake
One mistake can change fate
Which can leave you in a miserable state

A Collection of Haiku

Dark clouds fill the sky.
Light crackling all around.
The storm pours on down.

✤✤✤✤

Darkness fills my sight.
My subconscious awakens.
Dreaming through the night.

✤✤✤✤

The rain slows down and,
Only the mist surrounds with
Puddles on the ground.

✤✤✤✤

Rockabye baby,
As tears swell in your blue eyes,
I’ll sing lullabies.
