They Pour

by Mx. Jupiter

They pour the holy water over my body
Letting it run over the valleys and mountains of me
Hoping it fixes all that I am
Drowning in their scriptures and science
Falling into void silence
Spinning slowly, recklessly
Pulling secrets out of the dark
Weaving in and out of realities
Swallowed whole by the chaos inside of me
Singing a sweet, solemn melody
Dancing in time with my memories

Swinging on a pendulum ticking
Waiting for the bells to toll
Running through this empty landscape
And I don't know where to go
Choking on the unknown facts
And all your truth filled lies
And every word I say’s a prayer
Always asking why
I confused a falling leaf today
For a butterfly
But maybe all the best of them
End up falling from the sky

Words roll off my tongue
Like paper wings take flight
But maybe even I don't understand them in their fragile, shimmering light
Disappearing into the background
Becoming all my stars
Lighting up my darkness
And covering up my scars
My heart pumps the fear
And the fear feeds the fire
As I lay waiting
To be saved from untold desires
